As Manchester United's budding young stars get ready to begin their FA Youth Cup campaign, one of the club's most famous winners, David Beckham, says he still looks back on his experience in the competition as the best time of his career.

Beckham was part of the famous Class of '92 side who won the trophy at Old Trafford after beating Crystal Palace in the final. Alongside fellow graduates Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and later his younger brother Phil, the group went on to carve out memorable careers for club and country with their achievements celebrated in the recent release of the film 'Class of '92.' In an exclusive interview with and Inside United, Beckham says he will always have fond memories of his Youth Cup days and insists the competition still provides a great platform for today's youngsters. "That time was the best and most nervous of my career," he recalls. "It was the best time because I was playing football for the club I'd always dreamt of playing for and I couldn't have asked for a better group of players to be with. But I was nervous because at any point the manager could have cut us out of the team and got rid of us. But thankfully we all survived and went on to be very successful. "We all learnt so much during that time and the fact that we could live through everything together was very special," he added. "And given it happened at Manchester United, a club we all love, was a dream come true for all of us."Watch more from the interview with David on MUTV from 18:30 GMT on Monday as the channel builds up to live coverage of the FA Youth Cup clash vs. Burnley.
