David Beckham is keeping a vigil for his sick nephew.

The 11-week-old son of the soccer star's sister, Lynne, has been in the hospital reportedly suffering from breathing difficulties since he was born on December 30.

And according to UK newspaper The Sun, little Jenson James is now facing a life-saving operation.

The outlet reports Jenson had an emergency tracheotomy and must now undergo stomach surgery.

The boy's father, Kevin Briggs, told the outlet doctors believe the boy has gastroesophageal reflux disease, which is preventing him from keeping down food.

The 41-year-old said David has been a pillar of support, however.

"David calls every day and has been amazing. His mom Sandra is also a godsend. We're praying for Jenson," he said.

David and Victoria recently relocated from LA back to London with their four children.

A source told British magazine Now the family is stronger than ever.

"This is how the Beckhams have always lived their lives. They're not traditional; they're always on the move. Their family is stronger than ever since the move to London and the kids are all happy. So Victoria and David knew that they were both ready to push on with their careers once again," the insider said last month.

Having family close by is said to be helping the busy celebrity parents as well, as they're able to rely on their parents to help with their children.

"Their priority is the children and their happiness as a family. The fact that Victoria and David's parents live near London helps, as they have a lot of support while they're working. They're excited about what 2014 will bring, although it's not going to be easy," added the insider.
