David Beckham meets the children of Typhoon Haiyan

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham is in the Philippines to meet children affected by Typhoon Haiyan, the deadly storm that hit the country last November.

David said: "As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, seeing how children are being given a sense of normality amidst the rubble of their communities has been amazing. I want to show people around the world how their generous donations have had an enormous impact on children and their families and how thankful people here are for their kindness."

Here are some more photos from David's trip.

David arrived in Tacloban today to see UNICEF's emergency work for children affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Here he is at the airport with a fan. He met with child survivors of Typhoon Haiyan at a UNICEF-supported child friendly space in Tacloban. This photo shows David reading the children a story in the tented area where they can play games and get psychological support for the trauma they've witnessed. Then, because it's almost February 14, everyone got busy making some Valentine's Day cards. David also met babies and mothers who survived Typhoon Haiyan. They're being helped by UNICEF and its partners to have a safe haven to play with their babies, and to learn about the best ways to provide nutrition. This bit is pretty cute: Donate to UNICEF's work for children in emergencies like Typhoon Haiyan
