As the situation in the Philippines for victims of Typhoon Haiyan grows more desperate by the hour with aid trickling in at an excruciatingly slow pace, , David Beckham and a host of other stars are doing what they can to support relief efforts via social media.
"@UNICEF is rushing supplies to meet children's needs for safe water, food, medicine & shelter," the "Unconditionally" singer tweeted her 47 million followers with a link to UNICEF's donation page.
The retired soccer superstar seconded that message on his Facebook page.
"Estimates suggest that up to 4m children could be affected by the devastating impact of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. It's easy to feel powerless in these situations. But you can help. UNICEF is now on the ground working to reach children and their families with support-it's a race against the clock to reach those who need our help," Beckham wrote on Monday.

Yesterday, the footballer followed that up with another push elaborating on what the aid organization is doing on the ground.
"UNICEF has already mobilized therapeutic food for children, health kits, water and hygiene kits from supplies available within the Philippines. Much more is on its way. Your help can save lives."
With thousands of people continuing to suffer from hunger and lack of water and shelter, a slew of celebs are mobilizing their followers to give what they can. Here's a roundup of some of their most recent tweets:
