In the modern age of social media and viral videos, it's the sort of goal a young player might score and immediately wonder 'are the cameras here?'.

Thankfully, for Reading and Republic of Ireland Under-19 starlet Liam Kelly, the tape was rolling.

For when you've just dispatched a first-time wedge into the back of the net from the halfway line, it would be a shame for the effort to be confined to legend.

Kelly, with the laser-like precision which saw David Beckham notch from similar range for Manchester United in 1996, scored the only goal of his country's 1-0 win over Sweden in their European Championship qualifier.

And the 17-year-old clearly has a penchant for the spectacular, one free-kick for Reading Under-18s reminiscent of an effort from Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier against Wimbledon.
