'They Know Daddy Is In Control': David Beckham Reveals The Family's TV Habits

David Beckham has given everyone a sneak peek into what goes on in the living room of the Beckhams house as he confirmed that he's in charge of what's on the telly as well as confessing that family time is still the most important thing to him.

The former footballer revealed that he's in charge of the channels when it comes to what the family watch on the TV.

David has four children with Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, but despite being outnumbered he "is in control", even with differing tastes.

Speaking to Heat he said: "The kids watch a lot of the children's shows, but me and Victoria are watching Modern Family or the US Office.

"I'm in control of the remote, unless one of the boys is in the living room, then that's a different story. But they know Daddy is in control of the remote!"

Beckham can be spied in adverts for Sky Sports and confessed that he enjoyed watching golf and tennis as well as football, obviously.

In the adverts we see multiple versions of David just going about his everyday and when asked if multiple versions in real-life would be handy he reiterated that for him family come first.

"It would be great, because I could have one that is constantly there with the kids every single day," he explained.

"I'm there with them most of the time, but to be there at each school event or each football game, that would be the best thing. Most days they are playing different games on the same day, so it's hard to get to all of them at the same time".

Beckham then went on to reveal a couple of his favourites, One Director or Jay Z? Cars or motorbikes?

"One Direction are great, but I'm a huge Jay Z fan, so I'm going to have to say him."

Adding: "I've got into motorcycles in the last five or six years, so I'm loving motorbikes at the moment- but my family would say cars, I'm sure!"

David Beckham Talks Favorite TV Shows and Whether He's a 1D Man or Jay Z ...

David Beckham is certainly no couch potato, but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy kicking back and relaxing in front of the TV.

In a behind-the-scenes clip from his Sky Sports commercial, the 38-year-old retired soccer stud reveals a lot about what kind of entertainment the Beckham family likes.

First off, David says that, understandably, that Romeo, , Brooklyn and presumably even little Harper "watch a lot of the kids' shows," but he and Victoria "are into watching Modern Family or the U.S. Office. You know, things like that."

Now, if you should ever be so lucky to hang out at Casa de Beckham, don't you dare try and change the channel. "I'm in control of the remote control," David says, " unless one of the boys is in the living room, then that's a whole different story. But they know daddy's in control of the remote."

Mr. Beckham is also "into tennis," and 'likes to watch golf" on the small screen. "Obviously basketball when it's on, but it's usually on at early hours," he adds. "But most of the time I'm watching the football, of course."

And if somehow, some way, some wonderful scientist was able to create multiple David Beckhams (calling dibs on one now!), the dad of four says he'd have one clone "that was constantly there with the kids every single day."

"I'm there with them most of the time," he adds. "But to be there for each school event or each football game, I think that would be the best thing...The kids are playing different games on the same day, so it's hard to get to all of them at the same time obviously."

And for the money question: Does David prefer One Direction or Jay Z? The boy band is "great," but Becks says he's "a huge Jay Z fan, so I have to pick Jay Z."

Those 1D boys shouldn't feel too bad, though. It'd be pretty hard to win out over Hova.

And it seems the Beckham clan are no exception.

However, sporting ace David has revealed that he's in charge of the remote.

Speaking to Sky ahead of the new Premier League season, the dad-of-four said: "Me and Victoria are into watching Modern Family, the US office, things like that.

"I'm in control of the remote, unless one of the boys is in the living room, then it's a whole different story... but they know daddy's in control of the remote!"

The fight for the clicker is currently spread across Brooklyn, 14, Cruz, 8, and Romeo 10... with two-year-old Harper soon to join in the battle.

And speaking of his sport addiction, David added: "I'm into tennis, I like to watch the golf, the basketball when it's on - but it's usually on in the early hours.

"Most of the time I'm watching the football, of course."

"Really, we're much more normal than people think"

The 38-year-old also joked about what life would be like if there were multiple versions of him, as depicted in his Sky Sports ad currently on TV.

David said: "It'd be great. I could have one there constantly with the kids every single day.

"I'm there with them most of the time, but to be with them at each event or football match, that would be the best, because most days the kids are playing different games on the same day, so it's hard to get to all of them at the same time."

When quizzed about what he's most looking forward to the most, now the family are back in London, he confessed there's nothing like a day at his nan's.

David concluded: "The simple things like going round to my grandma's, going round to my mum and dad's house, seeing my sisters - the normal things that I haven't been able to do since I moved away from London when I was 15-years-old.

"It's been quite a while so it's the simple things like popping round for a cup of tea."

Meanwhile, Victoria similarly told Vogue Australia: "Honestly, once the children are in bed I'd rather work or shove on a face pack and pluck my eyebrows.

"By the time Brooklyn's finally gone to bed, it's all I'm fit for.

"Really, we're much more normal than people think."

Pictured: Plans for David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay's new London business ...

There's still another few weeks before David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay's new business venture will be ready to be seen by the public.

However, London's foodies have been given a sneak peek at what to expect when the stars' new restaurant Union Street Café opens in September when these illustrations.

David is starting off his retirement from football by becoming a partner in Gordon's latest food establishment in Borough.

Artists impressions of the cafe show an attic feel with factory-style windows, exposed brick and furniture in neutral colours.

Designed by Russell Sage - who also created the interior of Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen - the space has been influenced by the local area of SE1.

The cafe has been described as an 'urban warehouse destination' which will offer Mediterranean-influenced food with ingredients sourced from nearby Borough Market and directly from the continent.

The food will be cooked in an open theatre-style kitchen so diners could watch the chefs in action.

Located on the corner of Union Street and Great Suffolk Street in Southwark's it's a short walk from the famous market and London Bridge train station and The Shard.

Neighboring buildings include the Union Jack pub and the Union Theatre.

Announcing the venture back in February, Gordon enthused: ' We're really excited to be opening Union Street Cafe in September and it's great that David wants to come on board and be partner.

'We've been working on the new site, which is near Borough Market, for the past couple of years and the amazing large warehouse space will offer quality Mediterranean-influenced food with a daily changing menu.'

He joked: ' David Beckham is going to be my sous chef.'

The Union Street Cafe will be Gordon's first new venture without his former business partner, Chris Hutchenson, father of his wife Tana, who he parted ways from several years ago.

Although the building isn't quite ready for furniture just yet, a photo on the eaterie's Twitter feed showed the progress so far.

A tweet on Tuesday said: 'Cables, cables everywhere! Coming along nicely - not long to go now.'

Union Street Cafe will open at 47-51 Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0BS in September.

David Beckham, Paul Gascoigne and Lionel Messi have been signed by Farnborough FC after the Conference South outfit unveiled a host of new players for the upcoming campaign.

The trio will be joined by Diego Maradona, Gary Lineker and Johan Cruyff with manager Jose Mourinho taking his place in the dugout this term. Confused? You needn't be.

Following a sponsorship deal with bookmakers Paddy Power, the Farnborough squad and their coaching staff have legally changed their names to that of a legendary footballer in their respective positions.

Goalkeeper Kevin Scriven will line up in the sticks as legendary England stopper Gordon Banks, striker Daniel Bennett becomes Lionel Messi while Spencer Day, the club's manager, will adopt Mourinho's identity.

'Over the summer it looked touch and go whether we'd even start the season, but now we've got by far the greatest team the world has ever seen,' said Day, now known as Farnborough's 'Special One'.

'Although it's not all good news, Pele and Maradona have almost come to blows over who gets to wear the No 10,' he added.

Farnborough's deal with the Irish bookmakers sees Paddy Power become titles sponsors of the non-League side.

The deal will include kit branding and stadium sponsorship with Cherrywood Road to become Paddy Power Park.

'The end result is that, on paper, the Skrill South team will be without doubt the best combination of playing talent that has ever been assembled,' said a Farnborough press release.

'It's not just the Farnborough FC faithful, all Skrill South fans now need only to travel to Paddy Power Park, and not Nou Camp, to see some of the world's best players.'

Not sure who's Gazza, but isn't that like being picked to play Bambi's mum?

Mourinho (not that one) said: "Over the summer it looked touch and go whether we'd even start the season, but now we've got by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. Although it's not all good news, Pelé and Maradona have almost come to blows over who gets to wear the number 10."

Paddy Power the person (real name), of Paddy Power the bookmakers (some relation), added: "We're waiting with bated breath for their opener on Saturday to see how Farnborough's rivals deal with a frontline led by Pele and Messi - and a defence marshalled by our captain Hansen. Hopefully Zidane keeps a cool head in midfield...!"
